Payment Terms & Conditions

Tutoring Sessions:
Interactive lessons where students receive teaching, support and feedback.

  • Sessions are charged at an hourly rate. (Current rates are available on request.)
  • When tutoring at your home, I will charge additional mileage rates according to current HMRC guidance.
  • I take bookings for one full calendar month in advance, and payment is due by the last day of the previous month.
  • Payment for any extra lessons arranged during the month is due by 5pm the day before each lesson takes place.
  • If payment has not been received 5 hours before the lesson is due to take place, I may offer your lesson time to someone else.
  • I will give you 2 calendar months’ notice of any fee changes.

Practice Tests:
Either an independently completed test, timed under test conditions; or a tutor-led review of completed questions. 
Tests are charged at a flat rate. (Current rates are available on request.) The flat rate consists of:

Booking Fee:
A non-refundable fee of 22% of the total test rate, payable at the time of booking to secure your child’s place. This covers fixed, upfront costs, including room hire, administration, preparation of test resources, and equipment for use during the test.

Balance Payment:
The remaining 78% of the total test rate, which must be settled in full according to the deadlines outlined below.

  • Full payment is due by 12pm, 4 days before the test is due to take place.
  • If full payment has not been made by 12pm, four days before the test is due to take place, then your child’s space may be offered to someone else, and it may not be possible for your child to attend the test.
  • After the test, I will keep all test papers to mark. Once marking has been completed, I will arrange for the secure return of test papers and summary feedback to you.

Cancellation and Rescheduling:

Tutoring Sessions:

  • If you cancel or reschedule a lesson, I normally expect payment in full unless a minimum of 24 hours notice is given. This includes when no notice has been given and your child does not attend. I will use reasonable discretion for exceptions in unavoidable circumstances.
  • If I cannot attend a lesson, I will credit you for a future lesson.
  • Should you wish to end ongoing tuition, I require one full week’s notice. If less than 7 days (168 hours) notice is given before a final, paid-for lesson, the full fee for that lesson remains payable.

Practice Tests:

  • Booking Fees are not refunded in the event of a cancellation.
  • If you cancel more than 4 days (96 hours) before the test, I will credit the Balance Payment towards a future test, providing that test is taken within 6 months of the original booking. Please note that credits are subject to test availability and are not a guarantee of a specific future date.
  • If you cancel 2 to 4 days (48 to 96 hours) before the test, I will credit 50% of the Balance Payment towards a future test, providing that test is taken within 6 months of the original booking. Please note that credits are subject to test availability and are not a guarantee of a specific future date.
  • If you cancel less than 48 hours before the test, I will retain 100% of the full payment (Booking Fee and Balance Payment).
  • If I cancel a test, I will offer you either a credit for a future test or a full refund (Booking Fee and Balance Payment).
  • Test materials remain my property and are not provided to you in the event of a cancellation.
